I am writing in a cafe, the wonderful BAG - Bakery Art Gallery in Bordeaux France.
I am typing on my Macbook which rests, as always, on the Mondrian-inspired laptop stand that I designed and 3D printed.
I work a lot on the computer and I am always creating and designing! So of course I came up with a design for a laptop stand.
There are many benefits to a laptop stand and I couldn't work without anymore:
it raises the screen to a level more comfortable for my eyes
it avoids cervical pain
typing feels better due to the angled keyboard, I have not looked into why but it does feel better for me.
Being 3D printed, the laptop stand is extremely lightweight (which is always nice because I never think twice about putting it in my backpack), and its size can be adaptable. I have printed two of them for myself (on with a black frame, and one with a beige frame) and a few for friends.
I printed on the Prusa XL with MMU and I used the beautiful earth tones filaments from Reflow.
The first model I designed and printed was slipping on the desk, so I added some slots in the 3D design where I can insert cork bands to avoid to make the stand adhere to any surface or desk, and to avoid making scratches on my laptop bottom surface.
